This Pick-Up Blitz is a SORAC initiative designed to take advantage of the fall season to encourage Laval’s businesses, companies, and institutions to responsibly recover their non-functional commercial refrigeration equipment. This targeted campaign is deployed over a limited period to encourage action and maximize participation among organizations across Laval.

How the Pick-Up Blitz Works
The Pick-Up Blitz runs from September 21 to October 9, 2026. During this period, businesses, companies, and institutions are invited to register and schedule the recovery of their non-functional commercial refrigeration equipment. SORAC will coordinate and manage all collection logistics, providing a simple and efficient process.
For businesses, companies, institutions, restaurants, grocery stores, hotels, and other organizations in Laval, the Pick-Up Blitz is an ideal opportunity to dispose of non-functional commercial refrigeration equipment that may be occupying valuable space in warehouses, storage areas, back rooms, or mechanical rooms.
SORAC offers a simple, turnkey solution for recovering these appliances, allowing you to free up valuable space while ensuring the responsible management of refrigerants and recyclable materials.

- From September 21 to October 9, complete the online registration form.
- Provide the requested information about the non-functional commercial refrigeration equipment you would like to recycle.
- Once your request has been received, the SORAC team will review and validate the information provided.
- From November 2 to November 27, our partner carriers will collect the appliances from your establishment.
- The collected equipment is then handled by SORAC for responsible processing and recycling.

What happens to the appliances we collect?
Once collected, the refrigeration appliances are handled by our specialized partner PureSphera to ensure they are processed safely and responsibly. Refrigerants and oils are first recovered to prevent their release into the atmosphere, after which the appliances are dismantled and sorted. Recyclable materials, such as metals, are then recovered and recycled in accordance with applicable standards. This process helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and ensures that your equipment is managed responsibly at the end of its useful life.
